Supervisor of Elections

http://www.voteindianriver.com Leslie Swan currently holds the office of Supervisor of Elections for Indian River County.  The Supervisor of Elections' job is to administer and oversee all elections in Indian River County. The office of elections conducts voter registration and issues voter information cards, updates voter registration lists and provides for absentee registration and absentee voting. The office of elections also is responsible for qualifying candidates for county office and receiving candidate campaign finance reports and financial disclosure reports. Other duties and responsibilities include maintaining election equipment, hiring and training poll workers, renting and equipping polling places and providing information and statistics on voter registration, voting and elections. Florida Division of Elections

The Florida Division of Elections oversees all things election related. The Web site, www.election.dos.state.fl.us, has assorted information about voter registration, elections, voting, petitions and initiatives and much more. The department's mission it is to provide statewide coordination and direction for the interpretation and enforcement of election laws, as required by the Florida Statutes, and to provide supervision to the Bureaus in the division, according to the site. City of Sebastian

www.CityOfSebastian.org The Sebastian city government operates on a council-manager form of government. The City Council consists of five members, including a mayor who is selected by the Council. Each is elected to 2-year terms. Annual elections are held on the second Tuesday following the first Monday in November and two members are elected in even-numbered years and three members are elected in odd-numbered years. Elections are non-partisan and at-large. The mayor and vice mayor are elected from among the members of every newly seated council. The qualifying period is Aug. 21 through Sept. 5.
