Suzanne Scranton, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 14, 2014, at her residence at Clare Bridge of Vero Beach.
She is survived by her three children, Margaret Roberts Murphy, Stuart O. Roberts, and Donald H. Roberts, Jr.,; and by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Born Suzanne Somersall Outerbridge on Oct. 23, 1924 on the island of Bermuda, she was the daughter of Ira Stuart Outerbridge and Mary Trott Outerbridge.
For 30 years, She and her first husband, Donald H. Roberts, lived in Summit, N.J. where they raised their three children. After Mr. Roberts’ retirement in 1992, the couple moved to Vero Beach.
In 1996, Mr. Roberts died shortly after they had celebrated 50 years of marriage. In 2001, Scranton married her second husband, Samuel Scranton who died in 2011.
Scranton was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church (Vero Beach). She was also a member of the Riomar Country Club and Coral Beach & Tennis Club in Bermuda.
A memorial service has been set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, in the Chapel of Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Avenue, Vero Beach.
