Vincent Amanzio, 91, Vero Beach

Vincent Amanzio, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2014.

He is survived by son, Vincent Amanzio (Lucille); daughter, Annemarie Ciaverella (David); six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife Matilda B. Amanzio.

He was born in Siderno, Italy in 1922 and was a long time resident of Miami before moving to Vero Beach in 1989. Amanzio was the chef and owner of Miami’s famous Sorrento Restaurant from 1947 until it closed in 1986.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, with Father Jim Dwyer, celebrant. Interment will be Friday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Park Cemetery North, Miami.
