VERO BEACH — Former Vero Beach High and Vanderbilt University safety Larry Franklin will be the special guest coach/speaker at a football performance camp for second through eighth grade athletes seeking to maximize their character and ability.
The camp will be held at St. Edward’s School on Friday Aug. 1 from 8:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. It will be free to the first 50 athletes.
Instruction on fundamental athletic techniques will be specific to age group and football position, with an emphasis on character development, performance training, and proper nutrition.
This will be the final Mind-Body-Soul Performance Camp of the summer. Pre-register by Friday July 25 by visiting www.victory-kids.org.
The camp will be conducted by St. Edward’s football coaches Bill Motta and Lou Ferrari.
“We are a certified USA Football Heads Up Tackling organization,” Motta said. “Our goal is to inspire the campers to create a value system that emphasizes honor, integrity and faith in God.
