Marvin Messex, Vero Beach

Marvin Messex, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 10, 2014.

He is survived by his wife 35 years, Jean (Palmer- McCrum); brother, Monte Messex (Shan); sons, Montgomery (Kim) and Michael (Tina); five grandchildren; six McCrum step-children, Hanna Henderson (Kris), Lindsay, Elizabeth, Bo (Barbara), Kate and William; and five step-grandchildren.

Born in Kentucky, he moved to California in his youth. He completed his education with a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of California at Berkley. He worked for the Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health. He moved to New Canaan, Conn., in 1979 and to Vero Beach in 1990.

A service will be held in Blue Hill, Maine at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Indian River Medical Center or to the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. An online guest book may be signed at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
