Lighthouse hosts Hibiscus Children’s Center summer social, student show

VERO BEACH — Lighthouse Art and Framing located at 1875 14th Ave., Vero Beach is pleased to host the Hibiscus Children Center’s Annual Indian River County Advisory Board Summer Social July 19 at 5 p.m.

In support of Hibiscus’ important work with children at risk, they will be raffling off donated original art the evening of the event. Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for a group of five tickets and are available for purchase all month at Lighthouse Art and Framing or at Hibiscus Children’s Center.

Food and beverages will be provided by local food vendors, including Blue Agave Tequila Bar. As an added special attraction, Ishkabibbles hand crafted boutique clothing will hosting a trunk show at the rear of the store and will donate an item for the raffle.

In the main gallery, the annual Lighthouse Student Show will feature works by many of the young art students taking classes at Lighthouse as well as members of the Wednesday night Open Studio group. They will be joined by young artists from the Hibiscus Children’s Center. All of the works in the exhibit will be for sale.

July is a the perfect month to turn inward and focus on the Vero Beach community, for bringing residents together and rallying around a good cause. This will be the second annual Student Art Show at Lighthouse and next month the gallery will feature the 3rd Annual Salute to Art Teachers exhibit.

“It is part of the mission statement of Lighthouse to give back to the community,” said owner Barry Shapiro. “These two exhibits comprise just part of our commitment to social responsibility. And support Hibiscus Children’s Center helps to insure a better future for the youth of Indian River County.”
