Julia Becker Schaefer, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 12, 2014.
She is survived by her sister, Ruthann B. Hodgson (Claude);a brother, Howard C. Becker; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Schaefer, Sr., and sons William Schaefer, Jr. and Bruce Schaefer.
Schaefer was born in Lynch, Kent., to the late Frank William Becker and Emma Sedges Becker. She graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield, N.J. and had worked as a bookkeeper for Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County.
She first moved to Vero Beach nearly 30 years ago from Berkeley Heights, N.J. She lived in several locations in this area before moving to Newberry, Fla. She eventually returned to Vero Beach to live at Indian River Estates in 2004.

The family will receive friends from 10-10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 19, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Mausoleum of Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
Robert Dale Stumberg, 84, Vero Beach
Robert “Jake” Dale Stumberg, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 13, 2014.
He is survived by his son, Steven R. Stumberg (Phyllis); grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Destine, Daisy and Alizah; and extended family in Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Stumberg and a son Randy Stumberg.
Stumberg was born in Grundy Center, Iowa and moved to Vero Beach 51 years ago from Cedar Falls, Iowa.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force. He had been a receiving engineer for Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach before his retirement.
A good family man, Stumberg enjoyed taking his wife fishing so she could catch dinner. He was the consummate worker and spent any extra time with family activities. He enjoyed watering his plants, real or artificial.
The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A graveside service with military honors will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 17, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
