FELLSMERE — The City of Fellsmere is sponsoring a “Community Services Outreach” event in Grant Park on Friday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. The purpose of the event is to make the community aware of the services that are available to residents and help families improve their quality of life.
Grant Park is located at 1039 W. Grant Avenue.
Organizations in attendance will be as follows:
- Career Source Research Coast: From 9 a.m.- 3p.m. Representatives will staff their Mobile Career Center and showcase the services they offer job seekers age 16 and up. - Treasure Coast Food Bank: From 9-11 a.m. Representatives will staff their Mobil Food pantry containing free food for 150 families. Food vouchers are required to receive the food and can be obtained in advance from Pastor Annie Mae Brown of the Fellsmere Community Prayer and Worship Center located at 1025 W. - Visiting Nurse Association (VNA): Representatives will be on hand from 9-11 a.m. to provide no-cost blood pressure and blood glucose screenings (people should be fasting if they’d like their blood glucose checked), and showcase information about career opportunities, their Mobile Healthcare Unit, bereavement camp for children, and teen volunteer program. - Boys and Girls Club of Indian River County/Fellsmere: Representatives will be on hand from 9-10 a.m. to discuss the club, its programs, and how much fun your children will have if they join! For more information call Keisha Rainey at 772-571-0810.
- Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County: From 9-11 a.m. Representatives will disseminate free pet ID tags, dog and cat food, and showcase other free or low cost services offered to the community. - Florida Institute of Technology Football team: Players from the Florida Tech Panthers football team will be on hand from 9-11 a.m. to play basketball with area residents.
