Rev. Dr. George Livingston Earnshaw, Jr., 90, of Sebastian, died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Glen Ridge, NJ, to Grace Stockton and George Livingston Earnshaw, who pitched for the Phillies earning a win with his 1929 World Series start.
He grew up in Swarthmore, Pa., and moved to Sebastian in 2004 from Preble, NY.
Dr. Earnshaw was a graduate of Penn State University, University of Rochester, The Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and Syracuse University. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a Campus pastor at the University of Wisconsin, Northwestern University and at Syracuse University.
For the last eight years he was on the staff of First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Jinny Griswold Earnshaw; daughters Hellen Burt (Steve), Joni Brown, Joyce Newkirk (Art) and Dale Champlin (George); 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara West and Elizabeth Voetch.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.
