Charles Harrison, 93, Vero Beach

Charles Harrison, 93, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 5, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa J. Harrison; daughter, Ava Georgian Harrison (Charles H. Parrish); and a sister, Dorothy Kafemen.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Harrison; brothers, Harry and Alexander Harrison; and a sister, Lillian Berman.

Harrison was born in Baltimore, Md., and was a winter visitor to Sebastian from Ventnor, N.J. since 1990, moving permanently to Vero Beach in 2001.

He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Army Air Corps. Following WW II, Harrison remained in France in a Civil Service position. Prior to his retirement he had owned Frank’s Café in Baltimore, Md. and New Consel House in Baltimore Highlands, Md.

Harrison was a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Vero Beach and a member of Jewish War Veterans Post 39 in Ventnor. He was a founding member of Jewish War Veterans Post 506 in Vero Beach.

Though he enjoyed playing cards, musical shows, Opera, loved to sing and spend time with his family, Harrison was most fond of the time he could spend with his loving wife, Theresa.

Interment with military honors will be at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, July 10, at South Florida National Cemetery and followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., at Temple Beth Shalom and then a reception at the Temple.
