Mel Sowers, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 2, 2014.
He is survived by his sons, Patrick Sowers and David Sowers; three grandchildren, Donovan, Briana and Kameron. He was predeceased by his wife, Darlene in 2010.
Sowers was born March 29, 1942 in Wayne County, Mich. and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1999, coming from West Land, Mich.
Sowers was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He worked 33 years with the Ford Motor Company in Livonia, Mich., as a factory worker.
A viewing will be held from 6-9 p.m., Monday, July 7, and 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, with a service provided by the VFW at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 3918, 1535 Old Dixie Hwy, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
