Ruth Morton, 98, of Vero Beach, passed away on June 29, 2014.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Spencer and Beth Perlo (Bruce); two grandchildren, Holly Ohs (Cortney) and George Freeman Spencer (Julie); four great-grandchildren, Spencer, Sydney and Brogan Ohs and Kolby Spencer.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, George Morton, and one granddaughter, Blayne Perlo.
She had been a resident of Vero Beach for seven years coming from her beloved home of 61 years in Scottsville, Kent.
Morton was born May 7, 1916 in Long Creek, Tenn. She was an active and faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Scottsville, Kent. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling and was still participating in water aerobics the week before her passing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her great-grandkids.
The family will return to Scottsville, Kent., for a memorial service August 7, at the First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church, 400 East Main Street, Scottsville, KY 42164.
