Rebecca Emmons new member of Indian River Community Foundation Board

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Local attorney and volunteer leader Rebecca Emmons was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Indian River Community Foundation.

Emmons is a partner with Stewart, Evans, Stewart and Emmons, practicing in the areas of real estate, corporate and tax exempt law. She provides legal advice to many significant tax-exempt organizations in the Treasure Coast region. She acts as outside counsel to advise these entities not only on tax exempt issues but on general corporate real estate transactions.

Emmons holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science cum laude from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In addition to the Indian River Community Foundation, Emmons is a Director for Children’s Home Society of Florida, Treasure Coast Division and the Indian River Real Property Council. She is also in her second term on the Board of Directors of Indian River Impact 100 and will serve as the organization’s President-elect in the upcoming year.

With the addition of Emmons, the Board of Directors of the Indian River Community Foundation is now comprised of 18 community leaders with backgrounds ranging from individual and corporate philanthropy to investment management and civic leadership. The organization began operating in 2008 and currently holds over $20 million in assets restricted for charitable purposes.
