INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Five at-risk men graduated from the Electrical 101 Program as ready-to-work electrical helpers.
The men were trained to work under licensed electricians performing residential, commercial and industrial electrical construction. All are available for immediate employment and all graduates are enrolling in the Indian River State College Electrical Apprentice Program.
The Electrical 101 Program, a joint ministry facilitated by Indian River Habitat For Humanity and conducted by Feed The Lambs Enrichment Programs, is an 18-week, 50-hour course in electrical construction skills.
Students receive a combination of classroom, hands-on workshop and on-site construction training. The program is open to at risk young men and women who want to pursue technical careers but do not possess the required background.
Contact Jim Kerns at (772) 571-3605 to hire any of the graduates and for more information about the program.
