Second Indian River County missing woman found dead

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A Fort Pierce man has been arrested for killing his estranged wife who lived and worked in Indian River County, according to the St.  Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy found Bridget Music’s body Monday just before 4 p.m. in a canal parallel to Emerson Avenue, 1.6 miles south of Indrio Road northwest of Fort Pierce in unincorporated St. Lucie County, according to authorities. She suffered a wound to the throat, and detectives noted defensive wounds to both of her hands.

Jacob Music, 39, has been arrested and faces charges of homicide, premeditated murder in the first degree, and second degree arson.

Jacob was taken into custody Monday night at the Quality Inn on Rte. 70, in Fort Pierce, according to authorities.

“Detectives apprehended Mr. Music shortly before 11 p.m. Monday at the Quality Inn on State Road 70 in Fort Pierce,” said Sheriff Ken Mascara. “He gave several different accounts of what happened to acquaintances we interviewed, but during our interview of Mr. Music, he admitted to killing Bridget Marie Feacher Music.”

Early Sunday morning 911 dispatchers received a call from a motorist who was driving in the 6200 block of North US 1 near the Indian River County line, according to authorities. They told dispatchers that they saw a car on fire behind a business.

The St. Lucie County Fire District and Sheriff’s Office examined the burned out car and concluded that someone deliberately set the car on fire with gasoline.

The car’s owner, Walter Haskins, of Vero Beach, told Sheriff’s detectives he had loaned the car to Bridget Music who worked at a gas station in Indian River County, according to authorities.

Haskins had been unable to contact Bridget Music by cell phone. His calls to her phone went directly to voice mail, and he said it was unusual for her to turn her cell phone off.

Haskins called the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office to report Bridget Music missing, according to St. Lucie Sheriff’s. Randilynn Santiago, Bridget’s sister, told deputies that Jacob Music was violent and had beaten Bridget Music in the past.

In March 2011 and May 2012, Music was arrested and faced battery domestic violence charges, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

“Our investigation is continuing as we learn additional details,” Sheriff Mascara said.

A missing persons report was made for Bridget June 22, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
