Ernest S. Kasper, 79, of Vero Beach, passed away on June 15, 2014.
He is survived by his daughters, Betsy Reid (Michael), and Jacky Purje (Lem); grandchildren Kassie, Michael, and Katie Nix (Andy).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie, in 2007, and his oldest daughter, Kathy, in 2009.
He was born in Elyria, Ohio, and was a graduate of Elyria High School, Class of 1953. Kasper was also a graduate of the University of Miami, Class of 1957, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, and met and married his wife Jackie.
Kasper and his wife lived and raised their family in Elyria, Ohio, until moving to Vero Beach 18 years ago. During their tenure in Elyria, Kasper was the President and owner of Kasper Foundry Compan, a member of the Elyria Country Club, and a member of the Young Presidents Organization.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Kasper enjoyed being a member of the Vero Beach Bridge Club and volunteering for many local charities and community organizations including Meals on Wheels, Florida Election Board, and the Dodgers.
Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends.
Visitation will be held on June 19 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., June 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
