INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An Indian River County man was arrested on a lewd and lascivious charge after his mother contacted the Sheriff’s Office out of concern for an 11-year-old girl.
The man, identified as Cody Raj Kelleher, 22, of no known address, told investigators that he did touch the girl’s chest over her top as he hugged her from behind, corroborating what the girl had told authorities, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The girl had also told investigators that Kelleher had tried to kiss her on multiple occasions and had also shown her a photo of his penis on his phone.
Kelleher made similar statements to authorities during an interview, according to the arrest affidavit. He also told investigators that he finds himself attracted to girls as young as 8 and has viewed child pornography on his phone, the affidavit states.
According to the arrest report, Kelleher told the arresting officer that he knows he has a problem and needs help.
He is being held at the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. He faces a charge of Lewd Lascivious Molestation Offender 18+ or Victim under 12, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
