Donald Sheaffer Thompson, 81, Vero Beach

Donald Sheaffer Thompson, 81, of Vero Beach, passed away on June 11, 2014.

He is survived by CeCe, his loving and devoted wife of 51 years; son, Dominick Thompson (Dawn); two daughters, Mary Huffine (Tom) and Dona Archer (Jeff); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Thompson.

Thompson was born in Agawam, Mass., on Nov. 5, 1932. He was a member of the United States Army and served in Germany. He received three medals during his time in the Army.

He moved to Sebastian in 1957. He met and married his wife in Feb. 1963. He loved the outdoors. He loved the location of he and CeCe’s last home on the beach in Vero Beach at the Village Spires. He said he felt like he was on a cruise every day.

His greatest accomplishments were his total devotion as a husband, dad and grandfather. He was a blessing for all who knew him. He will be greatly missed for many years to come.

A Visitation will be at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 2 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 4 p.m. to honor the life of Donald Thompson.
