Family of 4 displaced due to early morning fire

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An early morning fire displaced a family of 4 adults in the 8400 block of 58th Avenue, according to Asst. Fire Chief Brian Burkeen, spokesman for Indian River County Fire Rescue.

The fire was in the kitchen, a cause is still being investigated. Fire rescue was dispatched around 2:30 a.m., according to authorities.

Two teams of volunteers from the American Red Cross helped coordinate emergency aid for the family, according to the press release.

The fire caused significant smoke damage to the residence, according to authorities.
