A woman was held up and robbed near Jaycee Park, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.
The woman had been running on the north end of the boardwalk early morning Monday, June 9, when a man stopped her, implied he had a weapon and asked if she had any money, the police said.
According to authorities, the woman and man struggled briefly and the man fled the scene in a shiny black car.
The woman described the suspect as a black male standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. She said he was a young man, under the age of 20, with a thin build and short dreadlocks, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.
The suspect was wearing a dark colored tank top and shorts.
