Guy Harvey to visit Vero Beach Bealls to benefit ELC Saturday

VERO BEACH — Renowned marine wildlife artist, conservationist and scientist, Dr. Guy Harvey is scheduled for a personal appearance on Saturday, June 14, from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Bealls store located at 5900 20th St. in Vero Beach.

Bealls will be selling Guy Harvey products and Guy Harvey fans can personally meet the artist and get his autograph. A portion of the sales proceeds will benefit the Environmental Learning Center.

“We are pleased to be partnering with the Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach,” stated Steve Stock president of Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. “The Center does good work in the community working hard to make a difference with the area’s natural resources. We, along with our friends at Bealls, are happy to give back a portion of the sales proceeds from Guy’s appearance.”

The Environmental Learning Center is a nonprofit nature center and environmental education organization whose mission is to inspire people to be better stewards of the area’s fragile ecosystems.

The 64-acre preserve is located north of Vero Beach off County Road 510 at the end of the Wabasso Bridge and is surrounded by the Indian River Lagoon, North America’s most diverse estuary. Visitors will encounter hands-on exhibits, walking trails, native plant gardens, picnic facilities, a gift shop and a visitor center. Guy Harvey is a marine wildlife artist and conservationist who earned a Ph.D. in Fisheries Biology.

His depictions of marine life, especially of sportfish such as marlin, are very popular with sport fishermen and have been reproduced in prints, posters, t-shirts, jewelry, clothing, and other consumer items.

Harvey is also a very vocal and active advocate for marine conservation, having established the Guy Harvey Research Institute at Nova Southeastern University of Fort Lauderdale, as well as the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, an organization that funds marine conservation research and educational initiatives. www.GuyHarvey.com.
