Joseph P. Irvine, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on June 2, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathryn Brown Irvine; sons, Douglas Stuart Irvine (Catherine M.) and Bruce Edwin Irvine (Barbara J.); daughters, Lynn Irvine Price (Charles David) and Judith Irvine Terrell; stepson, Douglas Andre Irvine (Michelle Doss); 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; first wife, Jean Brough Danowski; and sister, Lydia Irvine Colwell.
Irvine was born in Chicago, Ill., and has lived in Vero Beach for 15 years coming from Fort Lauderdale.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Irvine was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines serving during World War II both in the Pacific and European Campaigns. He enjoyed a long career in the pest control industry most recently with Truly Nolan Pest Control where he retired in 1990 as Vice President of Marketing.
He was a member of the Community Church, Vero Beach. He was a very active member of the Kiwanis both in Fort Lauderdale and Vero Beach for many years. He was a member of Indian River Club, Vero Beach.
