SEBASTIAN — The Indian River County Tax Collector’s Office located at 11610 US 1 in Sebastian will be closed from June 5 through June 15, a total of seven business days, due to construction.
Tax Collector Carole Jean Jordan apologized for the short notice of closure at the Indian River County Board of County Commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday.
Jordan said the construction will add a much needed reception desk and improved lobby area to the existing building.
“Business is much busier in the Sebastian office than it has been,” Jordan said. She added that the expansion process has happened very quickly thanks to the cooperation of the Board.
Two representatives from the Tax Collector’s office will be on hand outside the Sebastian building during the time of the construction in order to direct customers to alternate locations.
Jordan asked customers who need the assistance of the Tax Collector’s Office to use the office at 1800 27th St. Building B, in Vero Beach, or the Vero West Commercial Center at 1860 82nd Ave. Suite 102.
If the construction finishes early, Jordan said they would re-open the Sebastian location immediately, though she said she does not believe early completion is likely.
