Dominick Martorana, 96, of Indian River Shores, passed away on May 23, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Joanna, and Dominick; sister, Dorothy Magistro; brother, Joseph; many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great-grand children.
He was preceded in death y his daughter, Mary Celia; parents, Dominico and Jenny Martorana; sisters, Katherine Reina and Grace Sanicola.
Martorana was a tool, gauge, and dye maker. He founded and successfully operated the Highland Manufacturing Co.
He moved to Indian River Shores over 30 years ago. He was a past Commander of Lloyd Post 193, American Legion and a 61 year member. Martorana was also a 21 year member of Post 3, Vero Beach, Italian American war veteran. He was also a former member of the Italian American Civic Association.
Martorana enlisted in the Army Transportation Corps soon after Pearl harbor.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday June 2, 10 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church on A1A. Family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to IRC Hospice
