Fellsmere Police seeks public’s help in battery case

FELLSMERE — The Fellsmere Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the case of a battery that occurred overnight on May 19 in the Grant Park area.

The police were called out to the Indian River County Fire/EMS Station 10 on Broadway at 12:15 a.m. in response to a reported battery.

The following is information posted to the Fellsmere Police Department’s facebook page relating to the attack:

During the investigation the officer learned that the victim was found battered in Grant Park and was driven to Station 10 by witnesses who found her lying on the ground in the park screaming.

Grant Park is located between East and West Grant streets and State Street.

The victim was transported to Sebastian Hospital and treated for her injuries.

During an interview, she said that she was walking along E. Grant Street when someone came up from behind and started hitting her. She did not see who attacked her or how many attackers there might have been.
