INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An Indian River County man has been arrested for a drug charge after dropping off an Oslo Middle School student at school, according to the Indian River Count Sheriff’s Office.
When Thomas Durden, 57, dropped the student off Tuesday around 8 a.m., he crossed two lanes of traffic, initiating a stop from authorities.
Durden was seen by authorities trying to put something in or remove something from his front pocket. He was advised to put his hands up, according to the Sheriff’s Office. During a search, authorities found a prescription container in his front left pocket that contained approximately 35 pieces of rock cocaine.
Durden faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
