INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Vero Beach and nearby areas are under a significant weather advisory according to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service.
Wind gusts between 40 and 50 MPH are expected in Brevard and Indian River Counties, along with heavy rain and lightning.
The weather advisory is in affect until 3:45 p.m., but scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the evening.
The National Weather Service advises those under the storm warning seek shelter until the storm passes.
