Barbara Chapin, 71, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 2, 2014.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Chapin; sisters, Carolyn Snyder, and Joan Luck; and many nieces and nephews.
Chapin was born in Springfield, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years coming from Boston, Mass.
She was raised in Longmeadow, Mass., where she attended school. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo.
Chapin was a Field Engineering Administrator for IBM where she spent her entire career until her retirement in 1995.
She was very active in civic affairs, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was a past board member of the Moorings Club. She loved scuba diving in Virgin Gorda, summers at Groton Long Point, Conn., books, needle point, and golfing at the Moorings Club.
