Kenneth E. Grondahl, 88, of Sebastian, passed away on May 3, 2014.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Moore (Don); grandchildren, Douglas (Jamie) Grondahl, II, Erick Grondahl, Bayley Moore, and Carson Moore; sisters, Ardell Roen; and two great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Alden Grondahl.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Maxine in 2011, son, Douglas, and sisters, Karyl Larson, Betty McMillin, Bernice Grondahl and Bonnie Grondahl, and parents Henry and Bertha Grondahl.
He was born in Grygla, Minn., and had been a resident of Florida since 1953. He lived 21 years in Palm City and 20 years in Sebastian. He also lived in Napes, Fla., and Alaska.
He had worked for Outboard Marine Corporation for 33 years in Research and Development. He raced swamp buggies as a young adult. He was quite the outdoors-man, enjoying boating, fishing, shrimping, camping and hunting. One of his passions was making knives and sheaths. He also had an art for story telling. He was of the Lutheran Faith.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Forest Hills Funeral Homes in Palm City Chapel, Palm City. A Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 10, at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, in Palm City.
