Port St. Lucie woman uses beer can to assault man

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Port St. Lucie woman has been arrested for assaulting an Indian River County man with a beer can, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 1 a.m. the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hang-up, according to authorities. As they arrived at a residence in the 1700 block of 17th Lane SW, which is the victim’s parents house, they found the victim. He had a circular laceration above his left eye and a contusion that was bleeding. He was sitting on the front step to his parent’s home.

Anna Keefe, 26, faces a charge of battery domestic violence, according to the report.

Keefe and the victim started drinking and got into a verbal argument about their child, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The child was with the victim’s brother because he and Keefe live in the woods in a tent. They were arguing over if the child was not the victim’s, authorities said.

During the argument, Keefe said she threw a beer can at the victim and due to it being dark she didn’t not know where she was throwing the can, according to authorities. She did not think it was going to hit him in the face.

The victim told authorities that during the argument he asked Keefe if she could give him another beer. During the heated argument Keefe threw an unopened beer can at the victim’s face.

According to the victim’s mother, Keefe has a history of violence and has hit him before. The parents have a trespass warning against Keefe.

On the way to jail, Keefe said that because the victim got her arrested, she was going to get him arrested.
