Mary Hussamy, 77, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 15, 2014.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Samir; son, Omar David (Carole); grandchildren, Tarek, Hannah, Karim, and Amira; sister, Marjorie Taplin; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Greenwood.
She was born on March 3, 1937 in Gee Cross, Cheshire, England to the late Thomas Rose and Annie Lister Hilton. She was a graduate of Harrytown High School Convent of the Nativity, Bredbury, Cheshire, and attended Leeds University, England, where she earned a degree in elementary education.
She later returned home to teach at Harrytown High School, Hurstclough Primary School, and became principal of Stalyhill Primary School in Cheshire, England. While at college in Leeds, Hussamy met her devoted husband, Samir Hussamy.
They emigrated to Altavista, Va., in 1970 and lived there until 1995 when she relocated to Vero Beach. She worked at the Hussamy Sports and Hand Center until she retired in 2010.
