Junior League honors outstanding women

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Junior League of Indian River is honored to recognize 29 outstanding women on April 30 at the 2nd Annual Woman of the Year luncheon. The event, presented by Stewart Evans Stewart & Emmons, P.A., will highlight the contributions women make to our community in four categories: Business/Professional, Civic/Non-Profit Professional, Volunteer, and Rising Star.

Business/Professional nominees are Patti Clements, Mary Cone, Cyn DeLee Dalton, Georgia Irish, Colene Israel, Elizabeth Moulton, and Beverly Paris.

Civic/Non-Profit Professional nominees are Kerry Bartlett, Connie Cotherman, Karen Deigl, Barbara Hammond, Lin Reading, Mary Silva, Ann Marie Suriano, Camilla Wainright, and Toccara Williams-Byrd.

Volunteer nominees are Susan Adams, Cathie Callery, Ann Catchick, Ruth Ann Fleckenstein, Barbara Hoffman, Lalita Janke, Brenda Lloyd, Chris Loftus, Andrea Smith, and Katherine Washington.

Rising Star nominees are Jacquelyn Carroll, Leah Reinhard, and Hunter Sullivan.

A Woman of the Year nominee is a woman who demonstrates high ethical standards personally, is a recognized role model, has a strong sense of community responsibility, and is outstanding in her contributions within Indian River County. All women will be recognized for their achievements at the event, with an award recipient selected in each category. The Woman of the Year will be chosen from among the finalists in each category and announced at the Luncheon.

All proceeds from the event will support Junior League projects that help children and families, including its current initiative, Whole Child Indian River. Whole Child helps families access resources in our community through a confidential web-based program. Through a six-dimensional assessment, Whole Child assists parents in identifying their family’s needs and connects them with service providers in our community.
