William McCullers, 54, Vero Beach

William McCullers, 54, of Vero Beach, passed away after losing a battle with lung cancer on April 18, 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Holly Romine McCullers; three children, Allison McCullers Bartlett (Teresa), Joshua McCullers (Tracey), and Angela Joy McCullers; siblings, Jimmy McCullers (Cindy), and Deborah Bryant (Doug).

He was predeceased by two sons Steven William and Gary Lee as well as his granddaughter Destiny Lee, who the family believes took him home, as she would have been 5 years old this month.

McCullers was born on April 12, 1960 in Vero Beach, to BJ McCullers, Sr. and Roberta Peterson McCullers.

He completed up to the 10th grade at Tabernacle Church. He then went to work for his father. McCullers became a well-known local business man for over 30 years. He was a mud racer, loved to ski, and loved the river.

His main goal in life was supporting his family and raising his children. He became involved with the Vero Beach Senior High School band in 2002, which became another part of his life. He volunteered with local charities around Vero for the last 13 years. He had a big heart and gave help whenever he was needed. He was also a member of The First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.

His family wrote, “We love and miss him dearly. He will always be in each of our hearts. Bless him and keep him.”

A Celebration of Life will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
