SEBASTIAN — The Sebastian City Council approved a city-wide computer system replacement and training from Dell, among other consent agenda items with a unanimous vote on Wednesday.
The new computer equipment will cost approximately $157,000 and the training will cost $6,400, bringing the City in under the $165,000 budgeted in the current fiscal year.
According to official documentation, the majority of the existing computers owned by the City are more than five years old and past warranty.
In addition to the approved computer purchases, Council approved $600 in funds to come out of the Law Enforcement Forfeiture Account for supplies for the 5th grade DARE program; approved a three-year contract with Unifirst Corporation of Fort Pierce for city uniform rentals, and approved alcoholic beverage service at two private events to be held at the Community Center in the coming weeks.
