INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Third and fourth graders will be traveling to the Environmental Learning Center during the 2014-15 school year to get on-site instruction and hands on experience, the Indian River County School Board unanimously approved.
The renewal agreement is estimated to cost the School District $80,000, which covers each third and fourth grade class and transportation.
“I’m very glad” to be able to approve this item, School Board member Claudia Jimenez said.
The Environmental Learning Center is expected to provide environmental educational services to the students, using the Splash curricula for third graders and Lagoon Days for fourth graders.
