15 students to travel to Tennessee for national Academic Games

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – More than a dozen students from five elementary and middle schools will be traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., to participate on the District Academic Games Team.

The School Board unanimously approved the out-of-state travel request presented by Assistant Superintendent Andrew Rynberg.

The students will be out of the district April 25 through 29 to participate in the Academic Games National Competition.

School Board member Claudia Jimenez said she wanted to wish the students good luck in the competition.

Travel expenses have been covered through donations and the School District covers the cost of registration fees as well as the substitute teacher who travels with the students.

The Academic Games Team consists of students from Beachland Elementary, Osceola Magnet, and Gifford and Storm Grove middle schools.
