INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — BJ is a 33-year-old parrot who arrived at the Humane Society after his human friend passed away.
As any pet would be after such a life change, BJ is a little confused and unsure of himself right now.
Staff at the Humane Society have been giving BJ extra attention, introducing him to new toys and getting him settled into his brand new cage. Now, he is enjoying more living space than he ever had before!
A new family who could spend time socializing him would make BJ feel at home again, would calm his nerves, and set him up for a happy and healthy life. Speaking of life, BJ has the potential to live for another 30 to 40 years.
Janet Winikoff, director of education at the Humane Society, said his new family should have a “game plan” in the event they can no longer care for him.
Contact the Humane Society of Vero Beach at (772) 388-3331, or drop by for a visit, 6230 77th St., off 58th Avenue, for more information on BJ and other pets for adoption.
