Thomas Peel, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 4, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Eileen Peel, and many nieces and nephews.
Peel graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1945. In 1984, he retired from the Rock Island Railroad after 33 years of service in the laboratory and eventually in the executive offices. Following his retirement, Peel moved to Vero Beach from Flossmoor, Ill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m., on Wednesday, April 23, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach. An online guestbook may be signed at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
