David Russell Shailer, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 1, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Josephine Burr Shailer; his children, Sarah Shailer Speace (Matthew), and Andrew Russell Shailer; sister, Suzanne Askew; and his two grandchildren, Drew and Josie.
He was born in Morrisville, Vt., on March 18, 1939 and lived in Short Hills, N.J. for over 30 years before moving to Convent Station, N.J., and then Vero Beach.
He graduated from Colgate University where he was Phi Beta Kappa and then graduated from Yale Law School. He worked in the financial services industry and was the Managing Director for the Douglas, Noyes division of TBP Partners.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 8 at the Community Church of Vero Beach at 11 a.m. There will be a celebration of his life in Short Hills, N.J. on Saturday, May 17.
