Gordon Murphy, 80, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 31, 2014.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley; daughter, Dawn Redstone; sons, Doug Murphy (Marcia), and David Murphy (Irene); nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He owned Murphy’s Men’s Wear in Vero Beach. After selling the store, he became a Real Estate Broker, worked for the Florida Lottery and the Indian River County Property Appraisers office.
He was a past president of the Vero Beach Rotary Club, a past president of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and served with the Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad for over ten years.
A memorial service will be held at Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 16, at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church. A guest book is available at www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
