Homeless Family Center receives John’s Island Community Service Grant

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Homeless Family Center, Inc. has received the John’s Island Community Service League Grant in the amount of $40,000.

Representatives of the John’s Island Community Service League recently visited Homeless Family Center and “had a good visit.”

“We support the improvements that you are making to the facilities, the increased professionalism, which you are requiring as well as the new expanded training,” reads the letter signed by Philanthropy Chair Hope Woodhouse and Philanthropy Co-Chairs Anne Melanson and Sandy Rolf. “We believe the Homeless Family Center provides an important service to our community.”

“We appreciate John’s Island Community Service League’s continued support to Homeless Family Center,” said Homeless Family Center’s Executive Director Mary Ellen Maguire. “We accept this grant with sincere gratitude on behalf of the families that we serve.”

Homeless Family Center’s mission is to provide opportunities for homeless families to end homelessness by achieving self-sufficiency through education, living wages, and permanent housing.
