Elizabeth “Bettylee” Cornell, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 27, 2014, with her son by her side.
She is survived by her son, Chip Woody; daughter Betsey Woody; two grandsons, Mason and Logan Woody; and a granddaughter, Embley Fuchs.
Her husband, Merrill Cornell, predeceased her in 2009.
Cornell was born on Aug. 7, 1938 in Baltimore, Md. She graduated from Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, Md. She attended Beaver College and graduated from Towson State University Suma Cum Laude.
Cornell moved to Vero Beach in 2002 where she met and married her husband, Merrill Cornell. She was a member of the John’s Island Club and a previous member of the Elkridge Club and Baltimore Country Club. Her love of French culture sparked the desire to speak French fluently and share her gift with others. She spent many years as a French tutor enriching the lives of others.
