Carl W. Ballerstein, 82, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 21, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte; daughters, Carol (Frank), Gail (Rich), Karen (Anthony); sons Alan, Kurt (Tracey); stepson Mark (Debbie) Bonner; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Ruth Stisser; and his friend Tammy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothea Ballerstein, four sisters and three brothers.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1931 in Wellsville, N.Y. He was a devoted husband and father, and beloved by his large close family.
Ballerstein served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Alfred Tech College and was in Hospital Administration in Lockport, N.Y., East Liverpool, Ohio, and Romney, W.Va. He retired to Whitesville, N.Y., and then to Vero Beach, in 1996.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m., at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1850 6th Ave., in Vero Beach.
