Space Coast Symphony presents ‘Schubert’s Unfinished’

VERO BEACH – The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra returns to Vero Beach with “Schubert’s Unfinished” at 3 p.m. on Sunday April 6 at the Vero Beach Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th St.

Maestro Michael Hall will guest conduct the program which includes the Southeast US premiere of Southern Air, by compelling composer Clint Needham. Pianist Eric Clark joins the SCSO to present Edvard Grieg’s romantic classic, Piano Concerto in A minor.

The work is among Grieg’s earliest important works, written by the 24-year-old composer in 1868. The powerful concerto combines elements of Norwegian folk music and show-stopping piano flourishes.

The concert closes with Franz Schubert’s brilliant Symphony No. 8. With exquisite melodies and foretastes of romanticism, Schubert’s so-called “unfinished symphony” has enjoyed continuous popularity for nearly two centuries.

Advance tickets are $20 and available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at several convenient ticket outlets, including Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments.

Tickets at the door are $25, students 18 years of age and under admitted free.
