Jakeria Ashley Janay Culmer, 24, Vero Beach

Jakeria Ashley Janay Culmer, 24, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 8, 2014.

She is survived by her loving husband, Christopher S. Culmer; son Quinton “Q.T.” Tomlin; mother Tonya Whitehead; father Phillip Tomlin, Jr.; brothers Antonio Rodgers, Phillip “Scooter” Tomlin, Jr., Quinton “Boo Boo” Tomlin, Jr., Tredesmond Tomlinall, and Isaiah Burroughs; sisters Nakita Tomlin, Jennifer Tomlin, and Teyona Tomlin; maternal grandmother Diane Howell; and paternal grandmother, Mae Retha Tomlin.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Handy Whitehead and her paternal grandfather Phillip Tomlin Jr.

Culmer was born in Vero Beach to Phillip Tomlin and Tonya Whitehead. She was educated in the public schools of Indian River County and graduated from Vero Beach High School.

She was affectionately known as “Keria” and was a member of the Northside Agape Ministries Church of God in Gifford. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at an area assisted living facility.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21 from 5 p.m. To 7 p.m. At Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Gifford. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22 at the church at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Thorne’s Mortuary in Stuart.
