Ruby McCully, 96, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 9, 2014.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Pyles; son Keith McCully; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James McCully; her son Lewis McCully; sisters Lilli Mae Wadell, Elizabeth Jackson, Edith Pippin and Anna Belle Stansel; and brothers Franklin Hamilton, Marion Hamilton, Worth Hamilton and Alfred Hamilton.
McCully was born in Winter Beach and has been a lifetime resident of Indian River County.
She attended elementary school in Winter Beach and was a graduate of Vero Beach High School.
McCully worked in the cafeteria at Vero Beach High School for many years before her retirement.
She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church in Vero Beach and First Baptist Church of Winter Beach.
Visitation will be held at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach on Saturday, March 15 from 1 to 2 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Reverend Keith Hamilton will officiate and interment will follow in Winter Beach Cemetery.
