Student at Oslo Middle makes bomb threat

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A student at Oslo Middle School made a threat that he had a bomb in his backpack, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. The threat turned out to be false.

Administrators at the school first removed students to the library, according to authorities. The assistant principal and the school resource officer searched his belongings and the room for a bomb.

No items were found that were considered a bomb.

The student previously had written on paper that he has made bombs, according to the Sheriff’s Office. When questioned about this, he said they were rockets.

The juvenile faces a charge of false reports of planting a bomb.
