Manace Gonzalez, 69, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 28, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons, Manace Gonzalez Jr., and Brian Gonzalez; grandchildren, Manace Junior Gonzalez III, Alyssa Gonzalez, Seth Kaiser, Jonas Gonzalez, Helena Gonzalez, and Gabriel Gonzalez; great-granddaughter, Bella Gonzaelz; brothers, Noel, Felix, and Josue; sisters, Eloina, Susana, Myrna, and Marlene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Monserrate Borrero Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico and moved to Vero Beach in 1984 from California.
He was a driver for Treasure Coast Sanitation prior to his retirement and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Gonzalez was a member of Tabernacle Ministries in Vero Beach and was well recognized for his pet parrot and for having a green thumb.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 5, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Visitation will continue from 1 to 2 p.m., on Thursday, March 6, at Tabernacle Ministries with a Life Celebration Service beginning at 2 p.m., with Pastor David Foster officiating. Interment with military honors provided by VFW Post 3918 will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
