Artist brings range of imagery, technique to Lighthouse Gallery through March

VERO BEACH — Lighthouse Gallery will exhibit the recent works of Dennis Windowmaker, showcasing the harmony between mixed-media and technology.

Windowmaker is a product of the 21st century and uses a wide range of mediums to produce his works of natural splendor. Dennis relies heavily on acrylic paints, using both traditional brushwork and airbrush techniques to apply the paint on canvas and achieve the seamless quality he seeks. He has learned to harness modern technology to his advantage, and frequently uses Corel Painter, Zbrush, and Lightwave to construct and edit his works.

His 3-D works, both sculptural and fine jewelry, are often printed with a 3-D printer. This probably makes him the most unusual fine art artist in Indian River County.

Dennis Windowmaker grew up in south Florida and as an adult traveled extensively, living in Pennsylvania, California, New Mexico, Alabama and Alaska. Inspired by his surroundings, he enjoys painting from nature, often en plain air while on location during one of his many travels.

He records his trips with photographs so that he can paint from them when he is in his studio. His work shows not only a range of skills but employs contemporary scenes of real Americana.

Dennis is currently living on the Treasure Coast, painting the vistas of the Florida landscape and its culture.

“Florida Shadows” is Dennis’ first show at Lighthouse Art and Framing and will be in view through the month of March.
