John Joseph Lipski, 75, Vero Beach

John Joseph Lipski, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 22, 2014.

He is survived by his second wife, Christine Decker Lipski; sisters Marie Gordon and Dorothy Dix; brother Francis Lipski; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gennet Lipski; brother Joseph Lipski and niece, Diane Hill.

Lipski was born, the son of John Lipski and Margaret Trucks, in Kinston, Penn., and grew up in Philadelphia, Penn. After high school graduation he served in the United States Marine Corps.

He returned to Philadelphia to work for many years, and later, he moved to Cape May, N.J., where he owned and operated a business producing custom made boat tops and awnings. He also ran a charter boat fishing business in Cape May.

Lipski was active in parish affairs at St. Sebastian for years, and will always be remembered as the “father” of the seasonal Parish breakfasts. He was active in a number of ministries and a generous benefactor to the Parish.

A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian. A luncheon will follow the mass. His body will be cremated and his cremains will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
